Lactobacillus plantarum is a homofermentative fermented, gram-positive-aerotolerant bacteria, it can grow up at 15℃, but the optimized growth temperature is 30-35℃. As a typical Lactic Acid Bacteria, Its metabolism mechanism can produce large lactic acid, acetic acid, lactobacilli etc. It has the ability to destroy pathogens and to preserve critical nutrients, vitamins. It also has an unique ability to consume oxygen ultimately as the antioxidants. It can also produce lysine (a beneficial amino-acid), to deliver therapeutic compounds and proteins to the body etc. Lactobacillus plantarum is a beneficial bacteria that is found in natural environments, plant materials, also in gastro-intestinal for human and animals, also in human saliva etc. Due to the super ability to produce large lactic acid quickly and can grow in flexible temperature from 15 to 42℃, Lactobacillus plantarum is widely used in fermented foods, feeds, environment protections, as well as the therapeutic health products for human beings.
